Black Forest is a deep and engaging strategic board game for 1 to 4 players, designed by acclaimed game author Uwe Rosenberg and published by Feuerland Spiele. Set in the 13th-century Black Forest region of Germany, players take on the role of local domain owners competing to expand their estates by constructing buildings, hiring workers, and efficiently managing resources.
The game features the innovative production wheel mechanic, first seen in Rosenberg’s Glass Road. Each player operates two wheels: one for glassmaking and one for food production. Through clever resource conversion and strategic action selection, players activate their wheels to generate vital goods for construction and scoring.
Over five rounds, players send merchants to various villages to perform actions, collect resources, and build structures. With over 30 building types and various job opportunities, no two games are the same. Balancing resource management and tactical positioning is key to becoming the most prosperous estate in the region.
