Paco Sako (Vredes Schaak)

Paco Sako is a peaceful and innovative form of chess:
- No more pieces are captured - but one embraces each other and forms combined pieces.
- The combined pieces are not captured but tapped - no more fear of losing your pieces

Based on the idea that the game of chess can be played to express friendship, peace and cooperation, Dutch artist and father Felix Albers designed a game where the pieces do not hit each other, but embrace each other, as it were. Conceived to play chess with his son, but at the same time to teach him a friendly, thoughtful and philosophical approach to the game. Felix Albers hopes to teach his son essential life lessons through play, to learn to cooperate and join forces, and to seek harmony in a world where there is too much conflict and misunderstanding. 

This set contains everything you need to play Paco Sako, including game board and playing pieces.

Pako Sako is the winner of the PAX Peace award 2017 and was nominated for Toy of the Year 2018 and the Dutch Games Award Expert Game 2018 .
