The new Pokémon TCG expansion Sword & Shield: Battle Styles introduces the new Battle Styles game mechanic based on the video games Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield!
Battle Styles includes Single Strike Style, attacks that can knock out an opponent with a single hit, and Rapid Strike Style, which can perform unexpected attacks. Each Pokémon can have a Battle Style. For example, Single Strike and Rapid Strike cards are available as Trainer and Energy cards, and players can assemble a Single Strike or Rapid Strike deck.
This expansion already features some Battle Style cards such as Single Strike Urshifu V, Rapid Strike Urshifu V, Single Strike Tyranitar V, and Rapid Strike Empoleon V. Single Strike Urshifu VMAX and Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX also come in their Gigantamax form, known from The Isle of Armor expansion for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
The complete Pokémon TCG Sword & Shield Battle Styles expansion includes 60 Battle Style cards, 12 Pokémon V and 16 full-art Pokémon V, 6 Pokémon VMAX, 19 Trainer cards, 6 full-art Supporter cards and 2 Special Energy cards.
