Mijn Eerste Spellen: Steen op Steen (2+)

In Block by Block, the HABA houses are buzzing with activity. Everywhere, new homes are being built, floor by floor and block by block. It is time to roll up your sleeves and help out. Children load the wooden blocks onto the brightly colored dump truck, drive them to the construction site and carefully stack them to build a sturdy wall together. 

The game is played cooperatively. On their turn, children follow simple instructions, move the truck and place a block onto the growing wall. If all nine blocks are stacked successfully, everyone wins. If the wall collapses, you can simply try again and see if you can stack the blocks more carefully next time. 

With its easy rules, short 10 minute playtime and mix of free play and guided game play, Block by Block is an excellent first board game experience. It encourages toddlers to practice grabbing and stacking, taking turns and playing together instead of against each other.
