Hooray (3+)

What do you need for a great party? Lots of colorful confetti. In Hooray!, each player gets a large animal card showing a friendly party guest such as a panda or a crocodile. In the middle of the table there is a pool of forty wooden confetti pieces in four different shapes and several colors.

On your turn you roll two dice. One die shows a color, the other a shape. If the rolled combination matches an empty space around your animal, you may take the corresponding confetti token and place it next to your card. If not, you might be able to help another animal or simply pass and hope for a better roll next time. The first player to completely surround their animal with confetti wins the game. 

With simple rules, a short playing time of about 15 minutes and chunky wooden pieces, Hooray! is a perfect first board game for preschoolers. While they play, children practice matching and naming colors and shapes, taking turns and focusing on the table.
