Limit is a competitive civilization board game from Ludonaute in which you lead a fictional Nation from 1850 to 2060, making hard political choices in a world of finite resources and global crises.
How do you play the game?
A game of Limit spans up to seven generations, or ends earlier if four global crises are triggered. Each generation is divided into three phases. In the Political phase you draw and play Political cards in pairs, deciding whether to industrialise, invest in renewables, wage war, encourage vegetarianism, outsource production and more. In the Social phase your population reacts: you must feed people, produce goods, collect taxes and deal with social unrest. In the International phase, ecological, financial and military crises may erupt and Nations can form or break alliances. At the end of the game your final Nation is evaluated: you score for territory, military power, financial influence and standard of living, but lose points for pollution and destabilisation.
Why is this game a must-play?
Limit is an expert-level civ and resource-management game that manages to be both mechanically rich and thematically grounded in real-world models of growth, limits and resilience.
- Deep civilization and management game with clear three-phase structure each generation.
- Strong solo mode plus highly interactive competitive play up to six players.
