Paws Up, a cheerful and tactical card game by Pegasus Spiele, takes you into the world of social media, cute animal photos, and exciting stories. Designed by Reiner Knizia, this game blends clever card management, timing, and set collection in a light yet strategic experience.
In Paws Up, players aim to collect as many “Paws” as possible through animal photos and completed “Stories.” You start with a profile of 5 photos, which you swap for better photos during the game. By playing smartly, you can form sets of animals, locations, or Paws to score additional points via Story cards. The game is language-dependent for the rules, but the components themselves are language-independent, making it accessible for everyone.
How do you play Paws Up?
The game is played over 13 rounds, each consisting of three phases: preparation, exchange, and cleanup. At the beginning of each round, 3 new photos are revealed. Players simultaneously choose a photo from their hand and play it. The player with the strongest card selects a new photo first from the display and can try to create a Story with a set of three cards. At the end of the game, players count the Paws on their photos and Stories. The player with the most Paws wins!
