Speculaas is a charming tactical card game from publisher Happy Meeple Games, where players act as pastry chefs combining recipe cards and spice cards to bake the all-time favorite speculaas cookies and earn the most points.
How to play the game?
Speculaas is played over several rounds with simultaneous drafting. Each round you draw and choose cards, then place them into your personal grid as Recipes or Spices. By cleverly positioning fragrant spices such as cinnamon, cardamom and ginger next to matching recipes, you complete cookies and trigger scoring effects. Because everyone drafts at the same time, the tension comes from reading opponents and deciding when to keep a powerful card or pass it along. The included Café module adds extra cards and scoring twists, while a dedicated solo mode lets you chase high scores on your own.
