The Cathedral of Orléans, a
cooperative board game by
DLP Games, transports players to the year 1598 in the heart of France. Together, you work to construct the famed cathedral of Orléans, where cooperation and strategic planning are key to success.
What makes this game special?
Designed by Wolfgang Dirscherl, Markus Müller, and Reiner Stockhausen, this game challenges players to complete the cathedral in just three rounds. It introduces a unique mechanic where followers are drawn from two different bags, adding excitement and tactical depth to each turn.
How do you play The Cathedral of Orléans?
Each player controls a set of followers, such as knights, craftsmen, scholars, traders, and monks. On your turn, you draw a tile from either the red or blue bag and place it to perform actions like collecting goods, acquiring building plans, or contributing to the cathedral. Monks act as wild tiles and can replace any follower type. Careful coordination is required to finish the cathedral within three rounds. If a drawn tile cannot be used, it goes into the bell tower and the round ends when it's full.
Why should you play this game?
The Cathedral of Orléans is ideal for families and groups who enjoy cooperative games with a blend of strategy and chance. The 3D cathedral built during gameplay adds a visually rewarding and tactile experience. Simple rules make it accessible for players aged 8 and up, while strategic decisions keep seasoned players engaged.
