Awalé (= Mankala/Kalaha/Oware)

A beautiful handmade version of Awalé. This model is made in Ivory Coast, from solid iroko wood. The Awalé box is also the game board.

Awale is a traditional African game played with seeds (of Caesalpinia crista) on a wooden board with holes. It is a strategic game where you take the seeds from a hole and distribute them one by one in the following holes to catch the opponent's seeds. To win, you must finish the game with the most seeds. The game Awalé is also known by the names Mankala, Kalaha and Oware. 

Please note that because these Awalé games are handmade, each one is unique. The length of the Awalé box is about 43 cm.
