A fika is a coffee break Swedish style. You drink a cup of coffee or tea together with a delicious pastry. Cozy, together and not too long. And those words also sum up this game very nicely.
In the game Fika you compete with the café across the street. Place your cards tactically in your own cafe and influence the cafe across the street. Each of the 18 cards has a direct effect on your cafe or your competitor's cafe, but also scores points at the end of the game. The winner is the cafe owner who is the first to win two rounds. A compact and smooth game with lots of interesting dilemmas and player interaction.
Fika is illustrated by Beth Sobel, known from Wingspan and Cascadia, among others. The game oozes coziness. But that's not to say it has no spice. On the contrary: you can safely compare Fika to a fragrant double espresso. A game for those who want to sink their teeth into something during coffee.
