Liberation is a historical board game by Platypus Industries about the asymmetric struggle between the Occupier and French Resistance.
How do you play the game?
In Liberation, players take different roles in the same conflict. Resistance players each lead their own maquis, working together to complete missions, build support and help liberate the country. The Occupier tries to track them down, set traps and capture brave fighters before the Resistance gains momentum. The Occupier can be controlled by a player or by an automa, allowing solo, duel and cooperative play. The five main scenarios cover the period from 1940 to the liberation of Paris in 1944 and can be played separately or as a non-legacy campaign.
Why is this board game a great pick?
Liberation blends historical theme, asymmetric tension, scenario play and deckbuilding. It is a strong fit for players who enjoy cooperation, tactical pressure and meaningful narrative context.
