Luz, the clever trick-taking card game by
Iello, challenges you to predict how many tricks you'll win — without knowing the value of your own cards.
What makes this game special?
In Luz, players receive cards in 5 colors but cannot see their own values — only other players can. After sorting and passing hands, you must bluff and deduce to make accurate bids. Each round introduces a unique dynamic with betting meeples and a fixed trump color: yellow.
How do you play?
Luz is played over 4 rounds of 10 tricks each. Players receive 10 cards, sort them without seeing the values, and pass their hand to the left. Then, everyone bids on how many tricks they expect to win and may take a safety meeple. Tricks are played with yellow as trump. Points are awarded based on accuracy: correct predictions earn points, while failed bets lose them.
Why recommend this game?
Luz flips the classic trick-taking formula on its head. By hiding your own hand but revealing it to others, it creates intense bluffing and deduction moments. With vibrant artwork and elegant components, Luz is a smart and stylish game for lovers of card games with a twist.
