Maestro is an asymmetric strategy board game by Board & Dice in which Leonardo da Vinci's and Michelangelo's workshops compete for fame, influence and aristocratic favour in Renaissance Italy.
How do you play the game?
Maestro is played across four rounds. Players represent the two rival workshops, either individually or as teams, and alternate resolving actions. You create Artworks, exhibit them in courts and galleries across northern Italy, influence the tastes of powerful Collectors and compete for the attention of the local elite. Action cards help you gain majorities in prestigious galleries and secure support from influential nobles. The two workshops are fully asymmetric: Leonardo favours patient development and gradual engine-building, while Michelangelo focuses more strongly on bold, immediate tactical effects. After four rounds, the workshop with the most Victory Points wins.
