Nassau – City Collection 7, an adventurous board game by Queen Games (designed by Stefan Feld), puts you in command of a pirate ship braving the seas. Recruit your crew, load your cannons, stock up on rum and provisions, and set out to conquer outposts, fight sea monsters, and plunder valuable goods. At the end of the journey, tell your tales over a bottle of rum and impress your fellow pirates – who will have the best story to tell?
Each player controls their own pirate ship and crew, which must be armed and supplied to survive the dangerous seas. The game is played over 4 seasons, each divided into 2 distinct phases.
How do you play?
In the first phase, players explore the city of Nassau to gather items such as weapons, pirate pets, coins, rum, sails, and provisions. This is done through a clever placement mechanism that offers plenty of tactical choices. By building up your ship and crew, you prepare for the challenges of the second phase.
In the second phase, players set sail to test their ships in thrilling adventures. Every action costs provisions, and depending on your route, you’ll need weapons, cannons, and ammunition – all of which must be manned by pirates. Pirate pets grant special powers that can turn the tide of battle. At the end of the season, return to your home base to recount your adventures and score points. The more impressive the tale, the greater the reward.
