Nightroot Shade belongs to the John Blanche Masterclass and is specifically designed as a fluid wash for controlled miniature shading. It flows into recesses and around sculpted details, strengthening definition without requiring every shadow to be painted manually. Its dark-purple colour provides more chromatic character than a neutral black wash and works particularly well over pale flesh, pink and purple fabrics and magical effects. Apply Nightroot Shade selectively for deep targeted shadows or across larger areas to quickly increase contrast and create a dark, mystical atmosphere. The colour is also included in the John Blanche Masterclass Volume 3 paint set.
