Rock Hard 1977 is a thematic board game from publisher Devir where you live the life of an aspiring rock star in 1977 and guide your band from garage gigs to stardom.
How do you play the game?
Rock Hard 1977 is played over a maximum of nine rounds, each representing a day in one month from April to December. Using worker placement, you assign actions to spaces on the main board: rehearse, write songs, promote the band, work your day job, hire crew, sign record deals and earn royalties. At night you play gigs in venues of increasing size and visit the hottest hangouts for powerful bonuses. “Candy” tokens let you take extra actions at the cost of long-term drawbacks. Fame points are earned through reputation, chops and song quality, as well as production, performance and publicity bonuses. After the final round, the player with the most Fame wins.
