The Darkness - John Blanche Masterclass Warpaints is a very dark green-blue black acrylic paint by The Army Painter, developed for deep base colours, cold shadows and atmospheric grimdark and gothic miniatures.


Why choose this acrylic paint?

The Darkness belongs to the John Blanche Masterclass and uses the high-performance Warpaints Fanatic formulation. Its intense pigmentation is suspended in a premium resin base with stabilisers that help retain pigment dispersion even when the paint is heavily thinned. The extremely dark green-blue colour provides an atmospheric alternative to neutral black and works particularly well for deep basecoats, shadows, layering and controlled transitions. Use The Darkness on worn armour, dark cloth, creatures, terrain and other surfaces that benefit from a cold, shadow-heavy foundation. The colour belongs to the Deep Green-Blues Flexible Triad PLUS+ family and was originally included in the John Blanche Masterclass Volume 1 set.
